Benjamin Nénot

Senior consultant

Benjamin’s experience lies in social performance in the private sector. He is a project manager, consultant and auditor with extensive field research, due diligence and impact assessment experience gained from working for international companies, organisations and NGOs.

Benjamin notably works in deploying, coordinating and managing multinational teams; in carrying out development intervention evaluations with a wide range of evaluation methodologies; in implementing Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIA) in natural resources against prevailing national legislation international best practice standards (like those of the IFC, World Bank, OECD and ICMM); as well as in social and governance auditing. He is the project manager for Synergy’s independent evaluation services to the iTSCi programme (upstream minerals traceability programme in conflict affected areas).

During his career, Benjamin has developed a focus on human rights, due diligence, artisanal mining, conflict minerals and more broadly social issues related to extractive industries. He has also worked as an analyst and auditor successively for two asset managers based in Paris.

Benjamin holds an MA in International Affairs and an MA in Development Studies and Risk Management from the Institute of Political Sciences (Sciences Po), Bordeaux. Benjamin is fluent in French, English and Spanish, and is based in our Paris office.
