James Askwith


James has over five years of experience in project co-ordination, environmental and social impact assessment, community consultation and operations in the energy and extractives industry.

James works primarily as an independent evaluator of the iTSCi conflict-free tin scheme, a minerals traceability initiative covering countries in the Great Lakes Region. He has also conducted audits in Asia and Africa. James has provided technical input on projects in Saudi Arabia, Tanzania and Ethiopia.

In his previous work, James was instrumental in achieving planning permission for several wind farms in the UK, including the management of community consultation for several projects as well as drafting and reviewing chapters of environmental impact assessments. James was also responsible for quality and environmental management within the company in accordance with BSI, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.

He holds a BSc in Environmental Science and an MSc in Geographical Information Systems and Catchment Dynamics Management. James is based in our UK office in Oxford.
