Zhang Juan is a director at Zhongguancun Green Mining Industry Alliance and Synergy Beijing, with over a decade of experience advancing responsible business practices across mining, infrastructure, and manufacturing sectors. She previously spent seven years with the China National Textile and Apparel Council (CNTAC) before dedicating her career to the mining industry. Her expertise spans international standards, supply chain due diligence, human rights, labor rights, and impact assessment, with a strong focus on transforming corporate conduct through practical advisory and training.

She has served as a national consultant and technical advisor for major international cooperation projects led by UNIDO, ILO, GIZ, and the China-UK Forestry International Cooperation Project, supporting the implementation of global frameworks such as the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, ILO Conventions, UNDRIP, EITI, and the Voluntary Principles on Security and Human Rights. Her work has taken her across China, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Zambia, Eritrea, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, and Myanmar, where she has delivered hundreds of trainings and advisory services to transnational companies, governments, and industry associations.

Zhang Juan is a registered expert for ISO/TC 82 Sustainable Mining, a liaison representative for ISO/TC 308 Chain of Custody Standard, and a member of SAC/TC 613, the National Technical Committee for Trade Management Consulting Standards. She has contributed to the development of ISO IWA 45 Mineral Supply Chain, the Consolidated Mining Standards Initiative, and is a member of the Initiative for Responsible Mining Assurance (IRMA).

Her publications cover topics such as global supply chain governance, environmental management, industry standards, and responsible business practices. She holds certificates as an FSC COC Auditor, LegalSource Assessor, and ISO9000 Lead Auditor.

Zhang Juan earned her master’s degree from Fudan University’s School of International Relations and Public Affairs, was a visiting scholar at Gothenburg University (Sweden) in Global Governance & Gender Equality, and holds a bachelor’s degree in History Education from Jiangsu Normal University. She is fluent in English and a native Chinese speaker.
