Ed has over twenty years’ international experience supporting companies and institutions to understand and manage their interactions with society, with a particular focus on complex, high-stakes operating contexts. He is recognised for helping clients develop workable, practical solutions that combine strong systems with effective on-the-ground implementation.

His work spans social impact assessment and monitoring, community relations and stakeholder partnerships, training and facilitation, and the review of social performance and resettlement processes. He brings extensive experience in building and strengthening management systems, and in supporting teams to translate requirements and standards into day-to-day practice.

As a Director of Synergy Global Consulting and co-CEO of Synergy Global, Ed provides strategic oversight across Synergy’s portfolio and supports clients to embed social performance capabilities within their organisations. He also leads Synergy’s training and capacity-building work, including the development of programmes that professionalise community relations and social performance practice.

Ed has worked across more than 30 countries, supporting mining and large-scale development projects as well as industry initiatives. He has supported clients on external assessments and audits and works with a strong grounding in international good practice and client requirements, including lender and industry frameworks.
