Zhang Huichun has more than eight years of experience managing and implementing international development programs focused on responsible mining, mineral supply chain due diligence, and sustainable natural rubber cultivation. Her project portfolio spans China, Southeast Asia, and Africa, where she has led initiatives to advance voluntary sustainability standards, conduct supply chain assessments, and promote responsible business conduct among companies and industry associations.

She has a proven track record in developing and piloting sustainability guidelines for both the mining and natural rubber sectors, including the creation of biodiversity conservation standards and due diligence toolkits. Zhang Huichun has managed multi-country projects on environmental and social risk mapping, facilitated multi-stakeholder initiatives such as the Mekong Region Sustainable Natural Rubber Initiative, and delivered capacity-building programs for companies on topics ranging from biodiversity to EUDR compliance.

Her experience includes project management roles with the UK-funded Forest Governance, Markets and Climate Program (InFIT), where she oversaw mineral and natural rubber supply chain due diligence assessments, corporate training, and the development of implementation tools for sustainability standards. She has also contributed to research and guideline development on biodiversity conservation in the mining industry, and has published on sectoral best practices.

Zhang Huichun holds a master’s degree in Environmental Science from Beijing Normal University and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Tianjin Nankai University. She is fluent in English and has native proficiency in Chinese and Korean.
